Watch this video--it is tough to get.  The guy is really intelligent and speaks quickly so you might want to use headphones or find a quiet spot.

  1. William Carlos Williams wrote this poem because he wanted the readers to search what the actual meaning of this meant. It could be the Williams imposed to describe it as a way to contrast the difference between society and nature.

  2. He wrote this poem because he wants to set a challenge to people who will look at it with a deeper perspective. To understand there is more to what is being said than just the objects he writes about.
