Kim is your average, everyday girl. She wasn't popular. But she was very well liked by the people who knew her. She managed her everyday life by being social but not too social to be noticed or labeled as a threat to the popular girls. She stayed in the shadows when it came to those girls.

Kim had witnessed the cruelty of the popular girls. But Kim could never leave the shadows to defend the helpless. The summer before, Kim went to a camp. Like all typical camps it taught about bullying and how to stop it. After camp Kim promised herself that if she saw someone being bullied she would stand up for them.

Now in school, Kim had applied for a job. But she was rejected because she wasn't good enough. She began to lose confidence after that.

The next day Kim was at her locker gathering all her things. She noticed "lonely girl" go into the bathroom. A few seconds later the popular girls followed her into the bathroom. Kim knew what was going to happen. Kim took a deep breath and reminded herself what she promised she would do. Slowly she picked up her bag and walked to the bathroom door. She gently laid her ear in the door to hear what was happening. The sounds were muffled but she could make out the plead to stop. The response of the girls that if she didn't stop crying they would make her life miserable. Kim took a deep breath. She focused herself on the situation ahead. She knew what the popular girls were capable of and she knew that they would follow through. She pushed the door open, slowly. The creek of the door was deafening. But once the door stopped she could hear the quick, panicked breathing of lonely girl. Her footsteps quickened. Kim took the next turn so quick it would make someone dizzy. But her adrenaline was running and she could clearly make out everything in the bathroom. her eyes pierced across the bathroom at the popular girls, she could see through them. She could see the imperfection of the faces. Every pimple or spot that they covered with makeup. Kim look each girl straight in the eye. She could see their thoughts of disgust. Kim simply said, "Stop. Enough." Kim walked to lonely girl. She reached her hand down. Her head snapped back away from the bathroom door as the screeching bell rang. She looked up towards the bell. Her eyes fell back on the door. She heard the sound of footsteps inside the bathroom. "I can't do this," she thought and took off like nothing happened.
