As the final minutes were ticking down in the fourth quarter, we, the Rehoboth Lynx were down by 4. Now, since I was the star of the tonight's game, I knew it was up to me to try and bring us back. As the other opposing team shot the ball, I knew it was off. So I quickly ran to the goal and jumped for the rebound, but as I was coming down, I seemed to have landed slowly. All my senses seemed to have sharpened. I could hear the crowds breathing, see the sweat of my teammates, smell the odor of my defender, I could feel the air that filled the ball as I came down slowly down from getting the rebound. There was only 10 seconds in the final quarter, as I landed on both feet, I quickly ran past my defender. When I passed the half court line, another defender awaited me. I could see the concentration in his eyes, so I quickly pulled up and let the ball fly in the air. The defender jumped trying to block me, but slapped my hand, but I could tell the ball was in the right route for the basket. As I came down I could hear this swish of the net and the whistle of the ref. I went to the line, and I knew the pressure was on me. As I shot the free throw, I awoke in the locker room with a sprained ankle because I tried grapping a rebound but landed on my ankle wrong.
